glyceryl ethercarboxylic acid salt - Method
Open Data Verified Data
Add measured amounts of toluene, chloroacetic acid, and sodium chloroacetate to a reaction kettle, stir and raise the temperature to 70 ℃. Add lauryl glycidyl ether dropwise, and complete the process in about 3 hours. After dripping, react at 70 ℃ for 2 hours, then add NaOH aqueous solution for neutralization, and react at 70 ℃ for 8 hours to form a mixture of glycerol lauryl ether 2-sodium acetate and glycerol lauryl ether 3-sodium acetate.

glyceryl ethercarboxylic acid salt - Introduction
Glyceryl ether carboxylates, also known as glyceryl ether carboxylates, are a compound widely used in the chemical industry. It is an esterification product formed by the reaction of glycerol and carboxylic acid.
Glycerol ether carboxylates have the following properties:
1. Solubility: It is soluble in most organic solvents, such as ethanol, ethers and hydrocarbon solvents.
2. Surface active energy: It has excellent surface active energy and can be used as an emulsifier and dispersant.
3. Stability: It is relatively stable under acidic and neutral conditions, but it is easy to hydrolyze under alkaline conditions.
Glycerol ether carboxylates have a wide range of applications in many fields, including:
1. Cosmetics and personal care products: It can be used as an emulsifier, stabilizer and thickener.
2. Pharmaceutical industry: It can be used to prepare pharmaceutical microemulsions, emulsions and gels.
3. Agriculture: It can be used as a solvent and dispersant for plant protection agents and pesticides.
4. Industrial use: It is used as an emulsifier and dispersant in the field of coatings, paints and dyes.
Glycerol ether carboxylates are usually prepared by esterification of glycerol and carboxylic acid in the presence of an acid catalyst. Different types of glyceryl ether carboxylates can be obtained by selecting different carboxylic acids.
Note the following safety information when using glyceryl ether carboxylates:
1. Avoid contact with skin: Glycerin ether carboxylate may cause irritation to the skin, so protective measures should be taken during use, such as wearing gloves.
2. avoid inhalation: avoid prolonged exposure to high concentrations of glycerol ether carboxylate vapor, so as not to cause respiratory irritation or other health problems.
3. Storage: Store glyceryl ether carboxylates in sealed containers, away from fire and oxidizing agents.
